The purpose of Juvenile Justice was to correct the behavior of the juvenile delinquents and rehabilitation through a probationary period monitored by an individual who paid for bail and periodically reported behavior changes to courts. The Supreme Court case determined that juveniles are entitled to many of the same adult rights and have the right to know their charges, have legal representation, and the right not to testify against their own selves.
